We are commissioned by the German federal government to assist with the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations. In addition, we provide the German business sector with support for public private partnership projects. Through exchange programmes, InWEnt also offers young people from Germany the opportunity to gain professional experience abroad.
E-learning is being applied as a regular instrument in these programmes. Several years ago InWEnt has also started supporting the capacity building of partner institutions in the MENA region for the development of e-learning instruments in VET. In a first step programmes are oriented towards the teaching and management staff within the institutions, which is considered as a basis for a future rollout and broad based application within the teaching and training practice of TVET.

In recognition of the key role that NCHRD is to perform in the development of the national human resources, the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has mandated NCHRD as the lead agency responsible for monitoring and evaluating educational reform programs to ensure maximum benefit, and outcomes. In attempting to fulfill its important mandate and achieve its goal, NCHRD has identified major areas of activity. These include the following:
- Conducting and supporting studies and research pertaining to the various levels and diversified forms of the educational system, including higher, vocational and technical education.
- Conducting and supporting studies and launching projects linking the outputs of education and training systems with the labour and employment sector by setting up a system for human resources information management.
- Supporting education innovation initiatives.
- Evaluating the elements, components and outputs of the educational reform plans.
- Supporting the plans and projects geared towards the education reform plans in the various levels and diversified types of education, including systems, programs, human resources and education and training facilities.
- Offering consultations to organizations at home and abroad on the areas that are relevant to the responsibilities of the center.
- Coordinating with local, regional and international organizations and institutions to provide assistance and contributions to reform the various levels and diversified types of the education system through the relevant government bodies.

Generally the vocational education and training (VET) is practical oriented. It follows an adjusted Dual Training System: Two years training and education in the fully equipped training centers and one year in a company.

Short courses and upgrading training
In all zones short courses from one day to two months are offered for interested companies and organizations. These courses can be standard courses or specially designed to the needs of the customer.
In addition to the zonal services PVTD carries out training in its Technology Competency Center (TCC) and the Staff Training Institute (STI). The courses there deal with high level technology and address technician, engineering and managerial levels of organizations and companies. In TCC and STI international clients find up-to date training facilities and accommodation. Presently courses have been, or are carried out for participants from Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Jordan.
Accreditation as Training Provider
The standard VET is fully accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Education.
For short industrial training PVTD is accredited by the Industrial Training Council (ITC). In fact PVTD is the largest training provider in the ITC program.
PVTD is training partner for InWent, Germany's organization for international training on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation (BMZ).
Seven PVTD training centers have been selected by the European/Egyptian TVET Reform project to be upgraded as centers of competence.
International Cooperation
PVTD has strong partnerships with German organizations. PVTD staff is trained in Germany, Egypt or in countries of the MENA region. The subjects are ranging from training management and development, technical specializations in traditional trades or modern subjects like e-learning, environmental technology and renewable energy
Korea's KOICA is co-funding and supporting the modernization of four Automotive Training Centers and is establishing an Automotive Teacher Training Department. Management and trainer trainings (ToT) are carried out in Korea and in Egypt.
Japan's JAICA is supporting several centers and the Staff Training Institute with CNC machines for metal and wood works.
